Vocational Services

GCCLC  provides a variety of vocational training and skill-building services for individuals served to allow personal growth and improve independence. These vocational skills are developed through our Job Coaching staff.

Our clients work in a multitude of settings throughout the community – an outdoor market, an ink cartridge distribution business, a trophies and awards store (including Braille products), and a recycling center, as well as a workshop where the vocational trainees (people with developmental disabilities) work on packaging, bagging and shredding paper for local industries and businesses.

Valley Laser
was established in 1995 and has held the state contract to provide toner and ink to state buyers ever since. This GCCLC subsidiary currently serves state, county and municipal entities, as well as school systems. In the process, Valley Laser provides vocational training for people with developmental disabilities as part of our mission to improve the quality of life for everyone we serve. Valley Market
-- with a vocational program at its core -- sells spring garden, house and flowering plants (many of which are started from seeds in our greenhouse), fruits and vegetables in the spring, summer and fall and fresh Amish goods in the spring summer and fall. We also sell pumpkins and mums in the fall and Christmas trees and garland in the winter. Our clients help with the plant care and assist customers, as well as many other business related tasks.

The Recycling Center
is dedicated to preserving our community and empowering individuals with the tools and knowledge needed to reduce the environmental impact on our community and ultimately the world we ALL live in. The City of Pauls Valley and the Garvin County Living Center are working together and are on track to reduce the landfill burden by 1,000,000 pounds this year! This is being accomplished through donations at our drop site and through the collection of recyclables in area businesses and though cardboard collection. Sheltered employment 
The sheltered employment approach provides trainees (people with developmental disabilities) an opportunity to master skills by working on light packaging, assembling and bagging work for local companies including Covercraft and Amcor, as well as cutting plastic and shredding paper for local industries and businesses.
